Xiaomi Working on Phone With 120Hz Display And 5X Telephoto Camera

Late September 2019, there were news that Xiaomi is working on a phone capable of recording 8K video at 30fps. Recently with the first MIUI 11 beta out, the folks over at XDA Devlopers have discovered a refresh rate toggle in the display settings which comes with a 120 Hz option.

This assured us that Xiaomi is truly working on a smartphone with the high refresh rate. The new feature was first found on gaming phones like the two Razer Phones and the Asus ROG Phone II.

Adding to the high refresh rate screen, there is a probability that Xiaomi will also offer improved telephoto sensors on its future devices. The camera app menu in MIUI 11 has disclosed support for a new telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom. In addition to that, there is an ultra-telephoto mode that will offer up to 50x digital zoom.

As of now, there is no information that the same phone which will offer 8K video recording at 30fps will also come with the new telephoto camera and 120Hz refresh rate screen. It is expected that Xiaomi will make some official statement on that. Let’s keep our hands crossed.
